The Nevada Women's Lobby is a statewide non-partisan coalition of organizations, women and men presenting a strong voice on issues affecting women and families.
The Nevada Women's Lobby was founded in 1988 to improve the status of women and families by lobbying public officials and law makers. We hire a lobbyist to coordinate legislative action. We track legislation and we alert our members when action is needed from them. We lobby cooperatively with other organizations for maximum effect. We are proud of NWL's legislative accomplishments at the Nevada Legislature 1989 to 2007, and lists of the bills tracked by NWL in 2005 is available.  We educate and assist NWL members to participate in the legislative process with a bi-annual newsletter and group events.
The Nevada Women's Lobby encourages participation in the legislative process by hosting Grassroots Lobby Days at the Nevada Legislature in Carson City every other year during  legislative sessions.
Our Principles of Unity [below] are our guiding principles. For every decision, action, or issue that the Nevada Women's Lobby undertakes, we consult our Principles of Unity to determine it's relevancy to our organization and our level of support or opposition.

How the Lobby Operates

The Nevada Women's Lobby is a 501 (c) 4 nonprofit organization and derives its income from memberships, donations, events and grants. This pays for our lobbyist, newsletters, telephone, postage, web hosting, events, clerical costs, and incidental expenses.

The Lobby's Steering Committee is composed of volunteers who, along with our lobbyist, do most of the work required to keep the Lobby running.

Our Principles of Unity

Nevada Women's Lobby is a voice for women and children. We are dedicated to equity, non-violence and reproductive choice.
The lives of all people are inherently valuable and worthy of respect and dignity; therefore, we actively work to remove barriers of race, class, age, gender, religion, physical ability and sexual orientation.
Beginning with our own actions and language, we promote non-violence in all aspects of personal, economic and organizational relationships.
We support every woman's right to reproductive choice and self-determination.

Membership is open to all who share these principles.

The Nevada Women's Agenda (NWA) is an educational affiliate of NWL.
